Meridian has announced its joining the “Works with Sonos” certification , a seal that guarantees that the firm’s audio equipment will be able to function and be integrated into the Sonos ecosystem of devices , being able to configure systems that use amplifiers and speakers from both brands.
The certification, to which other manufacturers such as Onkyo , Elite, IKEA or Integra adhere, will allow compatible Meridian sound systems to work with Sonos speakers and that we can control all of them from the same Sonos S2 app for mobile phones .
It will also be possible to access the streaming music and radio services available from the Sonos app on Meridian amplifiers and manage their playback volume level through a single app.
At the moment the compatible equipment will be the 218 and 251 zone controllers , the model 818 preamplifier with streaming capabilities , the model 861 surround amplifier and the UltraDAC , all of them with the functionality available “soon” and we assume that the new releases of the brand will already come with serial compatibility.
